I believe that one does not have to be particularly well off to begin
with alpacas. I am offering a
number of ways to begin a life as a ‘paca person, some more traditional
than others.
Boarding
and Consignment
Along the way boarders and consigned alpacas were added to the growing
herd and the head count has risen to over twenty. The ones that have
left for their homes are remembered fondly. All the alpacas live in herd
groups in accordance with needs. Attention is given to avoid personality
clashes that will stress the alpacas and their caretaker as well. A
cross section of differing colors, types and of course lineages makes it
easier to find "the one for you".
Financing
Starting
out in the alpaca business or just having a few because you like them,
support may be the most important. The other thing that many need is the
finances to begin. Here too I can help with financing being available on
most of the alpacas. I customize each agreement to make it all work as
smoothly as possible.
Education
I will teach new owners how to do the routine care that
most alpaca owners do themselves.
I also
have an apprentice program for those who wish to get a more in-depth
education. Depending on your available time to devote to your education,
you will learn alpaca handling in many different situations and with a
wide variety of alpaca personalities.
